Connecting to CIA-WiFi

These instructions are for a personal device. Contact support.cia.edu if your CIA issued device is not connecting to a wifi network.

The process for connecting to CIA-WiFi is easy. It is the same process on any device. Each device may appear differently.

The Basic steps are:

  • Open your device's wifi settings
  • Choose CIA-WiFi
  • Enter your CIA username and Password

After connecting to CIA-WiFi your device will be remembered for 60 days before asking for your password again. CIA-GUEST is intended for guest use and expires after 18 hours.

Device specific instructions

Various devices are documented in this article. The appearance of your device menus may differ.

You will have a better experience using the wired network for your game console and desktop computer.

MAC OS
  1. Select the WiFi icon near the Clock.
  2. Turn it on if necessary
  3. Select CIA-WiFi (or the appropriate residence hall WiFi)
  4. Enter your CIA Username (not email) and Password
  5. Select Sign In

  1. Select the Settings icon
  2. Turn WiFi on if necessary
  3. Select CIA-WiFi (or the appropriate residence hall WiFi)
  4. Enter your CIA Username (not email) and Password
  5. Select Sign In
Android

Depending on the flavor of Android you will access your WiFi settings in various ways. With that in mind these instructions will rely on familiarity with your device.

  1. Select the Settings icon (a gear icon, color and design may vary)
  2. Turn WiFi on if necessary
  3. Select CIA-WiFi (or the appropriate residence hall WiFi)
  4. Enter your CIA Username (not email) and Password
  5. Select Sign In
