Visitor Policy

Updated on

Visitors to the academic building must be sponsored by a current member of the CIA community and must register with CIA Safety + Security upon arrival. The visitor must be accompanied by the sponsoring member of the community at all times. The visitor may not use any equipment or facilities while in the building. Classroom visits must be cleared with the faculty member teaching the course at least 24 hours before the visit occurs.

Students are responsible for the behavior of their guests. This includes being held responsible through the Student Conduct Process for any violations of college policy and/or damage done to college property.

Residence Hall Visitors

Visitors to the residence halls must abide by regulations established by Residence Life. Residents should meet their guests at the front door of the residence hall and escort them to the door when they leave. This includes students' parents. Guests are expected to observe all college and hall rules and regulations.

Overnight guests are not allowed to stay more than three consecutive nights, with the understanding that their stay does not constitute an inconvenience for roommates. An excessive number of repeat visits may cause aggravation to roommates and is not permitted.

If a resident is removed from the residence hall for conduct reasons, they are not permitted in the hall for at least one year after their removal, even as a guest of one of the current residents.
