The following guidelines establish baseline expectations for all community users. Use of any IML studio or lab constitute agreement to comply with all applicable policies, safety standards and contractual terms.
Users must:
Use all spaces and equipment in a safe and careful manner
Make no temporary or permanent alterations to facilities, infrastructure, or equipment without prior written approval.
Follow all posted signage and staff instructions
Adhere to approved capacity limits and fire code requirements
Keep all access points closed unless otherwise approved
Allow IML and CIA representatives access to spaces at all times during use.
All studios and labs must be returned to their default configuration immediately following use, including resetting lighting, equipment, and furniture, unless otherwise directed by IML staff.
Community programs may be eligible for reduced or subsidized rates when aligned with educational goals, non-profit missions or IML hosted initiatives.
Discount eligibility and requirements will be defined in writing as part of the approved program or agreement.
Certificate of Insurance
Community users may be required to provide Certificates of Insurance as outlined in an agreement.
Required coverage may include:
Workers’ compensation (including Employer’s Liability)
Commercial General Liability
Automobile Liability, when applicable
COI must name Cleveland Institute of Art as additional insured and meet the minimum thresholds defined in the agreement. The COI must remain valid for the full duration of the approved use.
Data Storage
All CIA systems and equipment used by the renter will be wiped and reset within 24 hours of the conclusion of the rental period. CIA and IML are not responsible for data loss resulting form this process. No long-term data storage on IML systems is permitted.
Age-Appropriate Equipment and Games
Age-Appropriate software, equipment and games will be defined for youth under the age of 18 prior to use of the IML. Some spaces and equipment are not suitable for minors.
Youth participants may not access restricted or high-risk equipment, mature-rated games or content or independent operation of equipment unless explicitly approved and supervised.
